Ahhhhh The Escape Weekend

Hi Everyone.
Happy New Week.

Terry and I ESCAPED this past weekend for a get away in Michigan.  It was so fabulous.

We have not been away in such a long time so this was really fun and sooo relaxing.  For the first time when away I did not feel like I wanted to come home.  I am not sure about you but when I go away I have a great time but I love to come back home to my nest.  This time I wanted to stay on my fun get away.

I will show you some of the places we went.  I promise I will not bore you with a lot of pictures.
Just was a nice escape and I found a beautiful treasure to show at the end of this post.  Highlight of the trip besides hanging out with my sweet guy all week end.

We rented a little get away cottage and this is the entrance to the motor lodge where you go to pick up the keys.  So fun and cute.  The owners of the cottages also own this motor lodge.  It is so cute and not like any motor lodge I can remember.

Each room is so cute.
We drove out to the Cottage we rented.  This was the entry from the parking lot to the cottage.

The trees are still pretty green but some of the leaves were beginning to change color.

There are three cottages on the property.  We stayed in the blue cottage.

Sweet deck off the back of the cottage with a hot tub.  It was so nice to have a glass of wine under the stars in the hot tub at night.
Very peaceful and secluded.

This was one of the shops in the cute town of Holland Michigan that we visited.

Beautiful antiques, vintage treasures, crafts and lots of re loved pieces in this shop.  Something for everyone.

We visited this Apple Orchard and Winery.  That area in Michigan if stock full of wineries.  This one was fabulous.
Lots of different wines, ciders and delish food.  The cider donuts were amazing.  Melt in your mouth.

We found time to visit this special place.  The Found Cottage is owned by Liz Marie from Liz Marie Blog.  Liz was there the day we went and was so cute and fun to hang with at her shop.  Of course her and I spent a long time talking and I forgot to take a pic of us together.  If you live near the southwestern part of Michigan you must go and visit her shop.

Her entry way was beautiful with all the cinderella pumpkins and mums.  Just so inviting.
Liz has tons of treasures in her shop.  Just room after room of fun stuff.

Look at those cute Michigan Love Pillows!  Too adorable.

Liz has a great variety of new and vintage finds.  There is something for everyone.

My found treasure.  Old chippy double window with lots of architectural detail to it.  Glass still in the windows.  Little shelf on the bottom of the window.  Oh I cannot wait to decorate this one for the holidays.  White Chippy Goodness!

Sorry but a very cloudy rain filled day to take a good picture.  Just take my word for it.  It is sweet, chippy and so full of history and character.  So happy to have this piece of history in my home.
Have a great new week ahead.
Hugs,
Kris

Your window makes a lovely statement piece and is stunning. Kris I emailed you back last night and just discovered my rowhomes email is corrupt and needs to be reloaded. Yikes it's always something! Just in case you were wondering why I didn't respond, lol. I think you renting a cottage for the weekend added to the charm that will linger in your memories.
